If you think that only children play with dolls, then you are not only deeply mistaken, but definitely behind fashion. In recent years, all over the world there is a growing passion, if not to collect designer dolls, then at least to have two or three for decorating the interior. In Europe, these graceful figurines are not just favorite toys and kind of keepers of the hearth, but also a reliable symbol of prosperity, because collecting dolls is a very expensive and very refined pleasure. And in America and England the number of "puppet lovers" exceeded the number of philatelists. Among them are such famous personalities as Elton John, Robin Williams, Demi Moore, Michael Jackson. This trend was brought to Russia quite recently, but given the scope and generosity of our Russian soul, it is not surprising thatthat the largest doll gallery in Europe today is located in Moscow.

On November 16, within the framework of the Floristic Sketches exhibition, a master class was held by the artist - florist and puppeteer Elena Polyanskaya. Art dolls are a real work of art. Work on each of them can take more than one month. Most of them exist in just one copy. It is impossible to take your eyes off them, you can admire them endlessly, each of them has its own character, just like people.

The mystery of the birth of a new doll took place in front of an admiring audience. Elena Polyanskaya generously shared with the audience the secrets of her skill, skills and approaches to this difficult business. Those who came to this lesson really enjoyed communicating with this amazing artist. And, in addition, the master conveyed to all those present the feeling that each of us can become a magician and work miracles. And it does not matter whether your works will be exhibited at world auctions or will simply delight your friends and loved ones - the magic does not fade away from this, rather the opposite!

From time immemorial, our Russian folk doll was not a toy for our ancestors. She accompanied a person from birth to death and was an indispensable attribute of any holidays. It is known that in Russia there were about 90 types of dolls: amulets, healers, herbalists, age ones - each had its own meaning and value, others were kept in the house along with icons. Is it possible to unequivocally answer the question: "Does the doll have a soul?" For centuries, our ancestors believed that dolls have the power to heal and protect, and although the amazing properties of Russian folk dolls have not yet been scientifically substantiated, let's rely on folk wisdom …
