Dull cypress Chamaecyparis obtusa Teddy Bear is another, no less interesting variety. 0.3-1 m in height, with vertically directed branches with slightly drooping tips. The needles are very dense due to close internodes, dark green. It grows very slowly, 1 cm per year. Also winter-hardy up to -29 degrees.

A compact globular dwarf, beautiful thanks to the pearly white tips of the shoots that retain color throughout the season. Reaches a height of 90 cm, grows slowly, the annual growth is 3-5 cm. Winter-hardy up to -25 degrees, a plant for the southern regions.

The crown is thick, wide, conical or pin-shaped. The needles are very beautiful, dense, not prickly, up to 3 cm in length, silvery-blue, with white stomatal stripes below, silvery when blooming. Cones before ripening are reddish, elongated-elliptical, protruding, up to 10 cm long and 4 cm wide, collected in several pieces. Refers to the winter hardiness zone 5a (up to -28 degrees), needs a protected place.

Barberry of Thunberg Pigmy Ruby syn. Pygruzam is a sophisticated novelty, rounded dense shrub up to 0.5 m in height and width. Beautiful without cropping. The leaves are small, shiny, throughout the growing season are bright, glowing, purple-ruby, in autumn carmine-red. Even the flowers of this variety are reddish, in racemose inflorescences, however, neither they nor the fruits of this variety have decorative value.

Young shoots and leaves with a yellowish tinge. The fruits are red, ripen in October. Belongs to winter hardiness zone 5b, needs a sheltered place.

Black elderberry Sambucus nigra Golden Tower is an openwork shrub up to 2 m tall, with yellowish-green leaves deeply cut into narrow lobes, especially bright when blooming. Winter hardiness up to -30 degrees.

A remarkable feature of the variety is the repeated, albeit less abundant, flowering after cutting off the faded inflorescences in the fall. The use of this variety is very diverse - on neutral soils in groups, mixborders, rocky gardens, on the shore of a reservoir (it is moderately demanding for moisture), for fragrant cutting.
