The Exhibition "GrootGroenPlus" Presents Its Partners

It should have been an ordinary story about a press tour, but everything has changed since the release of my previous article, the coronavirus and the announced quarantine have changed our plans for life and all our future plans. Everyone has to learn to live and work in a completely different way, including transferring part of the interaction to the online mode, even if they did not want, did not like, or even did not know how before. Therefore, in this article I am writing about those companies that we got acquainted with during the GrootGroenPlus exhibition last year and I give some links, perhaps they will be useful to you.

So, let me remind you that the GrootGroenPlus kennel show is one of the best international kennel exhibitions in Holland today and is already quite well known in Russia. Over the past few years, it has been visited by groups of Russian gardeners and gardeners who not only attended the exhibition, but also had the opportunity to participate in a special press tour program for an international group of journalists. The last exhibition was attended by 26 representatives of the press from different European countries.

This year, two press tours were held: one “internal” for some exhibition stands and one “external”, with a visit to the company. First, let's walk through the exhibition.

The Faassen Plants Group is a production nursery in the Dutch North of Limburg, which includes the production companies Bart Faassen Tegelen BV, JH Faassen-Hekkens BV and the PVM Plants BV trading company, as well as 5 generations of ambitious nursery growers. Over the course of 90 years, all of these companies have grown from small, specialized tree nurseries to large, multi-profile supplier. Faassen Plants Group is well known to consumers for its environmentally friendly, certified products. On the 75 hectares of the nursery, alley trees, shrubs, hedge plants and pot plants are grown. After 12 years of breeding work, Herplant BVBA - Beerse has presented its new resistant varieties of boxwood. These hybrids are sold under the company's trademark and protected by plant breeders' rights. From spring 2020, these new resistant varieties are available exclusively in the European market and are sold by wholesalers with sufficient experience with boxwood. Now the nursery is in the process of negotiations with well-known historical gardens in Europe, where new hybrids will be presented in the coming years. www.herplant.be

Swiss company Meylanhas 120 years of experience, traces its history back to 1898, has 5 nurseries, 25 hectares of arable land, supplies its products throughout Switzerland, as well as practically throughout Europe. The company specializes in the production and sale of trees of all sizes, from seedlings to specimens over 10 meters high, and mainly offers local organic plants. With a large fleet of agricultural and gardening equipment and modern infrastructure, Meylan nurseries are ideally suited for large-scale, quality production, and with a large fleet of vehicles for processing and delivery, the company has a diverse clientele - nursery and garden centers, government companies and gardeners. as well as private clients. www.meylan.ch

Located in France, the company Laf o the ret ursery - Sorinieres founded in 1988 and specializes in the breeding and rearing of young plants. The climate influenced by the Loire River, as well as the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean, allows for the cultivation of a large assortment: 2000 species of plants - trees, shrubs, perennials, bamboo, herbs, roses, small fruit trees, etc. In addition, Laforet works together with breeders, which allows it to offer customers many new products every year. Three nurseries from the southwest of France, who shared a common business philosophy and a similar vision of the market, formed the plant alliance P lantes D'Aquitaine in 1930. Since then and until today, the company has seriously expanded its boundaries and won a solid place in the European market, becoming a benchmark in the French Southwest: 104 hectares of production space, 32 nursery employees look after more than 1000 varieties of trees, shrubs, roses, fruit trees, chestnuts and conifers grown for parks and gardens. They provide the entire region with their products, sell a lot in the country, supply plants to all European countries.

Company Boomkwekerij Duchêne from Essen in the Netherlands was the result of a merger of two tree nurseries, which have worked closely and were engaged in joint investments until 2014. On the site of the Duchêne GCV nursery, which gave the name to the company until 1980, there was a farm where they were engaged in cattle breeding and arable farming. After 1980, cuttings and several types of plants began to be grown here, initially mainly several varieties of boxwood. Gradually, holly, laurel, yew and other species were added to the assortment. Naktuinbouw -it is the Dutch Horticultural Inspection Service, an autonomous government body regulated by the country's Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. Naktuinbouw monitors the quality of products, processes and production chains in the horticulture sector, carries out phytosanitary inspections on behalf of the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) and, among other things, verifies the identity, health and quality of propagated material in the horticultural sector. The inspectors issue the Naktuinbouw quality seal, which confirms that the material or laboratory of the exporting nursery has been tested several times and meets strict standards. It is also the only organization in the Netherlands designated by the government for the evaluation of flower varieties,tree and vegetable crops for their novelty, uniformity and stability in order to register and / or grant rights to breeders. www.naktuinbouw.com

Dutch company Terrazza MCis engaged in innovative green cleaning technologies, i.e. manufactures and markets a wide range of machines and units equipped with special cleaning brushes for professional gardeners, landscape architects, florists, tree nurseries and urban landscaping companies. Thanks to the patented Terrazza brush technology, weeds and mosses are removed from joints of all types and the surfaces themselves are completely cleaned, such as driveways or garden paths, terraces, any areas where plant products are located, this applies to surfaces made in geotextiles, concrete, natural stone, wood, etc. The company's kits (e.g. TMC, Weedee PRO, Geotex PRO and the new Wallee PRO) give the gardener the ability to clean weeds in a 100% environmentally friendly way (no detergents, no chemicals),using only water. www.terrazza.be

And finally, Allplants Mateusz Krzewicki, located in the Polish city of Plock. It is not accidentally called "All Plants", because does not limit itself in the range of cultivation, successfully fulfilling orders from different parts of Europe and the world. Plants of any size, deciduous and coniferous, open ground and in containers, alley trees, tapeworms, bonsai forms, perennials, grasses and much more. Well, and we went on a trip to the nurseries on a wonderful transport, which was provided to journalists by the Maarten van overbeek company.

M aarten van O verbeek is a young Dutch company: 50 hectares of loamy and sandy soils, 35 hectares of which are forested, the remaining 15 hectares are used for the cultivation of green silage or maize. The nursery specializes in so-called stanza trees of different varieties, types and sizes. We were shown how the formation process takes place. A specially prepared steel base with bamboo poles is used, as a result, the frame always holds the tree frame beautifully. Differently oriented forms are also prepared, including, for example, in the form of a "roof" or "umbrella". To make the transport of these shapes more efficient, you can release one of the longitudinal supports so that the tree can be neatly stacked.

In addition to the aforementioned specialization, a wide range of alley and ornamental trees are grown here, ranging in size from 12-14 to 25-30 cm in circumference of the trunk. Thanks to well-established contacts and operational relations in the team, the company works very flexibly and service-oriented in order to be able to quickly respond to the wishes of customers. BoomkwekeRIJNEN, located between the Dutch cities of Tilburg, Eindhoven and 's Hertogenbosch, this young tree nursery specializes in the cultivation of a wide range of euonymus, alley and park trees, conifers and shrubs, as well as visually attractive, simply beautiful trees. The loamy and sandy soils on this site are ideal for growing trees and shrubs, this substrate, combined with careful tillage, produces healthy and fast growing crops with a well-branched root system.

When growing strong and healthy trees and shrubs, the nursery pays great attention to quality and environmental friendliness, using only sustainable, healthy source material. Intensive pruning is also of paramount importance to create a dense and well-branched plant, to get straight and well-formed trees. Boomkwekerij Richard Verhoeven was founded in 1991 by Richard Verhoeven (the company actually bears his name). Until 2016, only rhododendrons and conifers were grown here, but after huge damage from hail, the cultivation of rhododendrons was stopped? and since then only conifers have been grown. The wide range consists of approximately 110 types of needle conifers, which are manually propagated from their own source material. Occasionally, custom vaccinations are given from clients.

The planting material is grown from its own source material and is available in pots from C3 to C30. For plants grafted to order, P9 is also used. After the growing season in the open field, most of the plants are planted in a pot and delivery is always done in pots. The company exports its products to Austria, Belgium, the Baltic States, Germany, Poland, Scandinavia, Switzerland, as well as Russia and Ukraine. richardverhoeven.nl

And I would especially like to thank the Coppelmans Garden Center in Valkensvard for the hospitality during the press tour. Of course, great attention is paid, above all, to indoor and outdoor plants.
