Video: Land Art In The Snow

Many call Simon Beck a showman. But rather, his snow art can be compared to painting in the snow or land art.
This courageous man did not immediately come to his art. Simon Beck sustained a leg injury that prevented him from running. But in order to train muscles, he began to walk a lot. In an effort to make the process more fun, he took up snowshoeing in the snow. Gradually, this activity turned into a hobby for him, and later - into a real art.

How does Simon Beck manage to keep the geometry and proportions of the drawing correct in such a large space? For this, he has his own simple, but rather laborious technology. First, a sketch of the drawing is created using a computer. Then, armed with a compass and a tape measure, he first creates contours in the snow, and then fills them with textures. It takes Simon about 11 hours to transfer his idea to a 100 x 100 m snow canvas. This is how works of incredible beauty are born. Starting with fantasy snowflakes and geometric designs, Simon moved on to painting.

Most often, his works can be seen at the Les Arcs ski resort in France, where he lives during the winter. On the slopes, art objects look even more interesting than on flat areas.
The name of Simon Beck became known in many parts of the world, he released an excellent book-album "Simon Beck: Snow Art".
