Summer is a hot season for flower growers. This is not only a time for weed control, but also an opportunity to learn new ideas. Someone goes to Chelsea for impressions - so great is the authority of English designers (read reviews about this flower show in No. 13 of the "Florist Bulletin"). And for those who have not been to Chelsea, we suggest taking a walk around Moscow. We assure you, there is something to see here too.
When Federico Fellini, who arrived at the Moscow International Film Festival, was shown the All-Russian Exhibition Center, he said: "Brad by a crazy pastry chef!" Probably, one can argue about the architectural merits, but, undoubtedly, this is the most grandiose exhibition area and a favorite resting place for Muscovites and guests of the capital - pedestrians, skaters, cyclists. Once upon a time, great attention was paid to the landscaping of VDNKh, so today you can admire a large number of interesting plants - on your own or with an excursion of the "Bulletin of the Florist" on July 24 (tel. 226-32-78, 41, 8-985-110-45 -40).
At the same time, you can visit the III international exhibition of flower decoration and landscape design. It is attended by designers not only from Moscow, but also from the regions, as well as from Germany and Holland. The exhibition is held under the motto "Blooming Planet" and is dedicated to the Year of the Family. It occupies an impressive area - 26 hectares, spread out on the main alley, near the fountains "Friendship of Nations" and "Stone Flower", on the grounds of the Northern and Southern rose gardens. 80 expositions demonstrate the latest trends in the organization of flower beds, reservoirs, vertical gardening. It is pleasant to note that our long-standing partners, the Freya landscape company (www.freja.ru) and the GreenWay-Alfa nursery (www.greenway-a.ru), are taking part in the exhibition. The exhibition will run until September 14.
In parallel, until September 15 between pavilions 23 and 25 of the All-Russian Exhibition Center, the VI Exhibition of Landscape Gardens is being held. This is not only a demonstration of the achievements of landscape designers, but also a collection display of roses, irises, daylilies, chrysanthemums and other perennials.
Collectors will certainly be interested in the exhibitions of the Moscow Flower Growers Club (See the Exhibitions section)
You will still have time to visit exhibitions of lilies, daylilies, decorative deciduous crops, phlox, gladioli and purchase planting material from the best Moscow collectors.
An unusual exposition is deployed in the Apothecary Garden of the Botanical Garden of Moscow State University. It hosts an international sand figure competition. Hurry up to see these ephemeral buildings!
We wish you a pleasant stay and new experiences!
