Everything is subject to time. This is a memorable saying for all of us that is eminently applicable to fashion. It is she who shapes our tastes and determines the habits and addictions. Even in such a seemingly conservative sphere as setting up your own garden. More recently, everyone dreamed of having a hedge on their site in order to reliably protect their garden beds from the prying glances of neighbors who jealously compare their own achievements with yours. Interest in the beds gradually cools down, and it is replaced by an all-consuming passion for lawns. The love for hedges remains, but now the blooming "green fence" is in special fashion.

The easiest way to make your hedge bloom is to plant beautifully flowered climbing plants such as a rose or clematis. They will not only cover your area with greenery that pleases the eye, but also bloom it with bright flowers. Unfortunately, this type of fence design is more suitable for more southern areas. In the middle lane, neither roses nor clematis form such an abundant green mass that would be able to reliably hide you from prying eyes. In addition, they require special care - garters, shelter for the winter, which, you see, is quite troublesome. And on top of that, by planting clematis or climbing roses along your fence, you will never be insured against the disappointment of one unhappy day to see your plants crippled by the ruthless hand of a passer-by.

In such a situation, you have to console yourself with the thought that sooner or later, beauty will ennoble the world. It seems that this has already happened in Europe. It is enough to look at their well-groomed gardens, which it never occurs to anyone to hide from prying eyes. On the contrary, everything is on display here. Massive fences covered with solid green spaces are unpopular in Europe. In many cases, they are replaced by light wooden or metal fences, the appearance of which is enlivened by all kinds of flowerpots and pots with flowering plants. As a rule, for the decoration of the front part of the garden, summer people with a long flowering period are selected - petunia, marigolds, verbena. Pelargonium is very popular among Europeans, especially its ampelous forms, which gracefully hang from hanging pots, creating bright color spots against the background of brick or stone walls.

Of course, all this is impressive, but, as they say, not about us. Nevertheless, some of the techniques of the European style of decorating the front part of the garden can be used to create a flowering hedge. Even if you plant just a few long-lasting flowering plants next to a traditional hawthorn or thuja hedge, the look of your green wall will be transformed beyond recognition. A floral accent for a hedge can be both annuals blooming all summer and perennials replacing each other in terms of flowering time. It is important to choose the plants so that they look spectacular against the background of the "green fence". For example, in combination with dark coniferous plants, light-colored flowers or silvery wormwood look great, against the background of yellow-coniferous or yellow-leaved species, plants with blue or blue flowers look great - delphinium, tall bells, cornflower.

A hedge made of thuja, hawthorn, cotoneaster in combination with beautifully flowering climbing plants will give your garden a very special charm. If you do not want to spend a lot of time caring for your "green fence", instead of a climbing rose, plant a curly honeysuckle-honeysuckle or some sort of clematis that is stable in our conditions, blooming on the shoots of the current year. Show some imagination - it will give your garden a unique character.
