Video: Fantasy Garden With Caves

Jenny and Beer van de Put
In small areas, everyone solves the problem of their expansion in their own way. Some build mountains (we talked about such a garden in the reportage Ampie's Berg Mountain Garden in the Netherlands), others build caves. Or rather, they combine both. We are now referring to an unusual garden in the Netherlands, called the owners Jenny and Beerd van de Put (Jenny and Beerd van de Put) Fantasy Garden (Fantasietuin).
This garden is located in the town of Aldebrock, in the same province as Amsterdam. The garden has an area of 4000 sq. m. However, it seems much more spacious when you walk along its ornate routes. The difference in height here is 15 m, and the visitor finds himself either in the gazebo on the mountain, or descending into the caves. Numerous buildings are notable for their variety and invention - houses, terraces and whole houses. Each of them has interiors decorated with handicrafts. Resting places - tables with benches - appear in a variety of places so that you can admire fabulous views from them. The most impressive ones open from the large terrace.
The owners love tropical gardens, so the flora has been matched here. It is positioned so that the landscape resembles a tropical thicket. Lianas, weeping conifers, tree ferns, yuccas, a combination of green and yellow-leaved plants all give the feeling of colorful tropical thickets. There are many thermophilic potted plants in the garden, which probably winter indoors. Exots put a big point in the tropical look of the garden, many of them were, indeed, brought from hot countries.

Garden style is difficult to define. The owners admit that they were under the impression of English gardens during its creation - most of all similar to the style of "Arts and Crafts", tk. there are many hand-made ornaments and antiques here. And in the souvenir shop you can buy handicrafts. But the elements of the Chinese garden are also felt - in the architecture of the gazebo and the red bridge, in the Chinese lantern and bamboos near one of the reservoirs. So it turned out a kind of fusion, meaning a combination of seemingly incompatible, the boldness of ideas and the novelty of their embodiment.

The covered terrace overlooks the entire garden - water features, lawns, rocks, caves and streams that run throughout the garden. The creators of the garden admit that only tropical birds and fish are missing to complete the picture.
The garden is an adult, it is over 25 years old, and its authors are happy to show their garden fantasies to visitors.
