Video: Styles Of New Year Floristry

Modern New Year's decorations are unusually diverse both in their style and in the materials from which they are made. As before, most often the main decoration of the New Year's holiday is the New Year's tree itself (real or artificial) - spruce or pine, as well as their branches. In recent years, a fashion has come to Russia for various New Year's floristic compositions: garlands, ikebana, arches, wreaths that convey the symbolism of winter holidays. They are used to decorate various interior elements: fireplaces and doorways, pieces of furniture and cutlery.

Every year florists develop and offer new ideas for New Year's arrangements. But in any New Year's composition, the emphasis is still on those accessories that are inherent in this holiday - on multi-colored candles, fir and pine cones, gold and silver balls. The traditional flowers of New Year's and Christmas compositions and bouquets are bright red roses and white lilies. Bamboo or horsetail shoots are widely used in floristic compositions, the plasticity of which allows creating a spectacular space within the composition.
But the most popular in New Year's floristry are still three main areas: traditional New Year's floristry, New Year's floristry with eco-motives and New Year's floristry in a mystical-fairy style.
The style of traditional New Year's floristry is characterized by the use of pine branches, stars, snowflakes and bells. The color scheme is maintained in a classic combination of green and red with gold or silver notes. Colored candles are very popular in such decorations. In the manufacture of wreaths and garlands, green branches of pine, spruce, thuja or juniper are used, fixed on a special frame and decorated with balls, stars, bells, ribbons and candles of gold, silver or red.
At the height of fashion and eco-motives in New Year's floristry. When making New Year's decorations in this style, the use of a variety of natural materials is characteristic: cones, flowers, mushrooms, twigs and roots, straw, vines; as well as corals, shells and starfish combined with pine branches. Wicker wicker stars, balls and other shapes or garlands combined with spruce branches, flowers, cones and bunches of mountain ash, walnuts, tangerines, apples and multi-colored candles can replace traditional room decoration options. And for the New Year's table decoration, compositions of moss, candles, red pepper pods, vanilla, oranges and bright berries can be used. The dishes themselves on the table and cutlery can be decorated with small spruce branches with rosebuds and lilies.
Another version of New Year's arrangements - in a mystical-fairy style - includes golden, silver, blue and purple tones. In this style, traditional elements are figurines of angels, Christmas biblical paintings, stars, blue ribbons and candles.
