Video: Wedding Floristry: Yesterday And Today

A wedding is one of the most exciting, unforgettable and important days in the life of any person. The decision of two to unite their destinies into one common life not only changes the course of their own life hours, but, as a rule, gives rise to new future lives, and this is how life on Earth continues for centuries. That is why we so want everything to be perfect and wonderful on this day!
Flowers have been accompanying the wedding ceremony for a long time and for almost all peoples living on our planet. One of the first wedding decorations to appear was the flower decoration for the bride's hair. Where else can the natural beauty of fresh flowers be so harmoniously combined with the natural beauty of a happy woman? A wedding head wreath or individual buds in a hairdo today, like many centuries ago, adorn the bride.
At all times and in all countries, the bride is decorated with special care, because she is the main decoration of the wedding! But the only obligatory bouquet on the wedding day was and remains the bridal bouquet. The wedding bouquet as part of the wedding ceremony came to us from the West and does not belong to the Russian tradition. European wedding bouquet traditions are rather conservative. The traditional bride flowers for centuries have been rose and lily, white or delicate shades. All the main wedding decorations were made of them: a wreath on the bride's head, or a boutonniere in her hair, and, of course, the bouquet itself. The classic bridal bouquet consisted of roses, carnations and camellias. In the XVIII-XX centuries in Europe, the custom of decorating the bride with flowers of an orange tree was widespread, which is why nowadays, artificial white flowers, which are the decoration of a wedding veil, are called "orange blossom", which means "orange flower", even if they represent something else. In England, a bouquet of

forget-me-nots or pansies. Well, the bridal bouquet from the English royal house must include a myrtle branch according to the custom established by Queen Victoria.
In the 60s-80s of the twentieth century in our country during the wedding of the bride held a huge white bouquet. At the beginning of the XXI century, small bouquets with a comfortable handle came into fashion. Today florists have proposed a new concept of a wedding bouquet, when only one flower can act as a bride's bouquet. For example, a white lily looks very impressive, from the stem of which all the leaves are removed, and instead of them various decorations appear: shiny threads with pearls and beads.
In recent years, the bridal bouquet has become especially popular at Russian weddings and can be considered one of the most important elements in wedding decoration. According to the floristic canons, it is the bride's bouquet that obeys all the decorations of the wedding celebration: all flower arrangements must repeat it in the style of execution, plant material and color; he also echoes the groom's boutonniere.
On the wedding day, flowers are traditionally decorated with flowers for the wedding car, and the premises where the celebration will take place, and gifts for the newlyweds, and the festive table, and even food that will be served to this table. Even a wedding cake today can be decorated with natural or candied flowers: roses, hyacinths, nasturtiums and calendula.
Although European fashion dictates its own style for wedding bouquets and decorations, do not forget that your wedding is only your unforgettable holiday and everyone in it should be subordinated to your taste! If fresh flowers from your summer cottage will make you feel comfortable and truly happy on your wedding day, don't pay too much attention to fashion!
