On cold days, you so want to paint your life in the colors of carnival, distant countries and beautiful legends! Miltonia is the personification of a riddle in the world of flowers: after all, each plant "winks" at its owner, hiding its own special secret.

This crafty plant naturally grows only in South America - Paraguay, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil. Because of the familiar shape and colors of these exciting flowers, miltonia is often referred to as "'Pansy Orchids". Their richly painted flowers bloom generously and for a long time. Miltonia can be easily grown at home or in a greenhouse. They usually bloom in spring or fall.

Often from small, flat false bulbs, several straight, upright panicles with flowers of yellow, red, white or pink tones develop simultaneously. These flowers fascinate us not only with their colors, but also with a wonderful pattern that resembles eyes or drops.

Miltonia is one of the easiest orchids to grow. The flowers of miltonia are velvety and similar in appearance to the flowers of violets, only they look richer, reaching sizes of about 7-10 cm in diameter. Flower arrows grow at the base of the new bulbs. Miltonia usually blooms in early summer and autumn.

Miltonia looks great against the background of light openwork furniture or in a classic interior. However, the more valuable the pieces of furniture, the more restrained the choice of plants should be. It is better to stop at varieties with a small number of not very bright, but large flowers, placing miltonia in emphatically simple ceramic pots.

Plants look especially beautiful on a modest, dim background. When decorating the interior with plants, you should pay attention to the angle of incidence of light. When flowers stand against a wall lit by the sun, their shadows form an interesting and strange pattern. And if they stand against the light, on the windowsill, then the general contours stand out especially. A good effect is achieved if the tones of curtains, wallpaper, furniture upholstery are repeated in flowers. If the interior is built on the contrast of black and white, then the rich colors of plants will add freshness to the overall picture.
