The Christmas industry has become so inventive that every year it is impossible to resist buying a few more toys - they have become so beautiful and diverse. Together with them, I want to bring renewal to the house, and as a result, more and more “offended” remain who have not found a place for balls and icicles in the New Year's decor. We often use them too often, trying to find a use for the most dear to our hearts. At the same time, I always remember the words of the famous fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev, who does not get tired of talking about the fact that the Russian interior is too much of everything - accessories, paintings, frames. On a holiday, a broad Russian soul appears to an even greater extent - more brilliance, more firecrackers, no matter how much they cost. We love rhinestones, bugles, sequins, glitter, lights.

Having met the last New Year in Prague, we liked a completely different approach to the festive atmosphere. Of course, it is more acceptable not for busy people, but for those who are used to creating a lot with their own hands - but we have a lot of them.

The main celebration - Christmas - has already passed in the country, but the decorations remained until the New Year and later to the delight of tourists. We saw in the Czech Republic a lot of decorations made from natural materials and very few artificial and fake fir trees even in city squares (moreover, there are much fewer forests, probably more vineyards and hops). There were rarely purchased toys on them - either only glowing garlands, or funny knots and bows made of bast and strings, as on this Christmas tree in Cesky Krumlov - a toy town, as if made of ceramics and painted with enamels, with a powerful castle.

The cornices of this castle, like many others in Prague itself, were decorated with garlands of coniferous spruce branches with cones, rings of dried fruits - lemons, oranges, apples, twigs with bright holly berries, unfading orange gelichrizum, blue statice and gray wormwood, physalis lanterns and discreet bows. I heard in the crowd of tourists: "As if tea had been thrown out of the window." Well, once here not only tea, but also the contents of night vases flew from the window into the courtyard, but not now.

A balcony box with heathers fits into one of the cornices, apparently, they simply did not clean it up in the fall - it remained a good decoration. And next to the second one - with coniferous legs and rose hips. The baskets with spruce branches and ivy looked extraordinarily lively, even though the greens were frozen. Ivy grows everywhere here and does not lose sight even in winter.

In the very heart of the city, in Prague Castle, we also found many examples of a modest but sophisticated design that does not overshadow the brilliance, but emphasize the antiquity and grandeur of historical buildings - pine garlands, bundles of fir and holly branches, and indispensable Christmas wreaths. One of them is unusual in that it is not made of their needles, but of rosemary.

And having looked at the "Christmas exhibition" in the Botanical Garden of Charles University, we gasped altogether. The exhibition was organized by club members like our "Moscow Flower Growers". How many different decorations for their Christmas trees have they woven and baked. And not all of them could be called Christmas trees - there were a crowd of potted pines, spruces and even podocarpuses, not only of a traditional conical shape, but also spherical, standard ones. And, perhaps, the latter looked the most advantageous. And what wonderful fragrant garlands are obtained from citrus peels!

Look at this tree, decorated with "roses" rolled from large withered leaves. She will be able to live in the interior even after the New Year, as an ordinary floral arrangement.

Here you could buy handmade toys made of natural materials, little angels woven from thin twigs, a lot of gingerbread and other sweets for a children's Christmas tree, and most importantly - recharge with creative ideas. Yes, members of the respected club will forgive us, but we managed to take a few photos until we figured out that not everyone is allowed to take pictures. But now we have the opportunity to demonstrate some of the work to the visitors of our portal.

Here is a pine tree decorated with flour snowflakes. On the other, there are nutshells with funny raffia crests. I immediately remembered how, as a child, I helped my mother decorate the Christmas tree with walnuts wrapped in multi-colored foil, and large sweets - "Gullivers", and after the holiday all this was eaten with joy. It seems to me that even now such jewelry will be more expensive for modern children than toys from a supermarket.

And in conclusion - a few photos of showcases of Prague flower shops with New Year's souvenirs. We can now find these too.
