The work of Elena Chizhikova |
June 10 Training center "Floreal" held its first competition of florists-designers among alumni and students "Floreal-2010". 9 florists, graduates of the last two years, took part in the struggle for the Grand Prix of the competition - training in France at the Multiethnies Center for Training and Education of Florists under the guidance of Muriel Le Cul (course "Wedding Floristics"). For some of them floristry is a hobby, for others it is a profession or their own business, so the level of work turned out to be different. But all of them required lengthy home preparation, search for accessories, creative effort and inspiration and love.
During the day, participants had to complete 3 tasks:
1. Interior composition or object on the theme “Summer. Paris. Love .
2. Decoration of the dinner table "Dinner in the garden for two".
3. Bouquet in free technique "Summer wedding".
It seems that they were already formulated by Joseph Brodsky: “Cafe. Boulevard. A friend on the shoulder … .
All three themes just begged to approach them conceptually and connect with a single plot with a happy ending, which is what many of the participants did. And they themselves tried to look in accordance with the concept and style of their works, like real French mademoiselle.

The work of Anna Hasikova |
"Paris is a holiday that is always with you" - this statement of Ernest Hemingway is familiar to everyone. This is how, free and carefree, the majority of people represent this city - both those who have visited it and those for whom it is still a cherished dream. Elevated summer mood, thick aromas of flowers, sparkling wine in glasses, romantic love stories corresponded to the spirit of Paris on this day. In the center of each work there are two and this wonderful city, with its cheerful lightness, green boulevards and small streets, gastronomic delights and famous wines, respect for antiquity and simultaneously striving for new things.
The interior composition of Elena Chizhikova - in paired vases of roses, lilies, anthuriums and Kalanchoe in fresh yellow-green tones of early summer. But the candelabrum for an evening dinner is decorated with scarlet roses, symbolizing the brightness of feelings. Nearby is a table with champagne in an antique decoupage bucket. The wedding bouquet is made of pastel shades of roses, they contain the tenderness of the bride and the precautionary care of the relationship.
Anna Hasikova 's works were distinguished by their attention to detail. The abundance of accessories made us recall the vibrant bohemian life of the city, the treasures of flea markets, the famous Parisian boulevards, the love for which was best expressed by Heinrich Heine, saying: “When God gets bored in heaven, he opens the window and looks at the Parisian boulevards.” The center of the interior composition is an open cage, a symbol of freedom and growing up. And on the table is a secret key, pulling on which you can find the coveted wedding ring, which the groom will wear at the wedding to the bride standing opposite with a bunch of gerberas, peonies and mattiol.
A completely different embodiment of the same story is in Lyudmila Kupreschenko. It contains the unity of style and true French luxury. In the interior and wedding compositions, expensive orchids - vandas, prevail, and in the tabletop - the splendor of a summer garden and the sheer simplicity of pelargoniums, bells and daisies. The abundance of textiles of heavenly and purple colors reminds of royal clothes, and exquisite French cheeses and baguette on the table - all the famous French cuisine. And the indispensable "Bordeaux" …

The work of Elena Kuzmieva |
The bouquet for the interior of Elena Kuzmicheva is lush and passionate, in rich temperamental colors. He is surrounded by five bracelets from a ribbon with an inscription familiar to everyone, regardless of nationality: "Je t'aime" ("I love you"). The composition "Dinner in the Garden" was created exclusively by floristic methods - napkins under the plates of fatsia and even dishes on the table - from flowers and floristic materials.

The work of Hendris-Trofimova Natalia |
The idea of Natalya Hendriks-Trofimova is simple in concept; the jury classified it as a commercial, not a creative floristry. But just this work was distinguished by the rigor of compositional execution and the absence of unnecessary details. And the soft muted tones of roses and hydrangeas perfectly matched the romantic theme of the competition.

The work of Elena Yakovleva |
Elena Yakovleva realized her desire to participate in the competition, but presented only a composition for the interior, made in one plane from roses, dendrobiums, carnations, peonies, sweet peas and panicles of cereals.
Samosvatov Igor was awarded for the best presentation of his work, but he is the only participant who composed a sad and touching story of love and separation from the Frenchwoman Françoise. Perhaps, it more than others corresponded to the plots of the French classics, who loved to portray heartfelt suffering. The writer Germaine de Stael even considered Paris "the only place in the world where you can do without happiness."
A bronze candlestick and vintage ladies' gloves refer to the beginning of the last century. There is a lot of handmade work in this work, the hat and the original handbag are made of tinted birch bark, the wedding bouquet is decorated with handmade lace. All floristic ideas are designed in the same style, calla lilies, gloriosa, freesia, lilac, mattiola, salal are used.
Alla Kuznetsova could not be present on the day of the competition, but presented her works in advance. This is a paired interior composition based on metal frames made of metal, complemented by weaving from natural materials. There are few flowers - sweet peas of unusual colors from white to purple, dried maple leaves, covered with gold dust, lush inflorescences of white and lilac hydrangeas at the base. Composition for the table on matting from three repeating elements and a bouquet for the bride of white roses and lilac hydrangeas, decorated with satin and light ribbons. And one more small object made of a piece of lime tuff with inserted flowers of oncidium in medical ampoules is an interesting find for miniature work.

And, finally, about the work of the winner, Zvereva Irina. It seemed to be the most original and consistent with the theme of the competition. The composition for the interior is conceived in the form of a mannequin made of jute cord with a hot heart of red alstroemeria beating in his chest. Maybe this is a hint of high fashion in Paris or its famous seamstresses? Or maybe the author wanted to say that in Paris even an inanimate mannequin lights up with love?

The work of Irina Zvereva |
The dinner table is decorated with a garland of peonies, fireweed and tanacetum on a wicker jute base. It would be difficult to make the choice of flowers more correct, because the world owes the existence of many fragrant varieties of peonies to the French breeders, some of which are already a hundred years old, like the famous Sarah Bernard variety. The color scheme is also successful, like a combination of sparkling champagne, rose Provencal and thick Burgundy wine. And the bridal bouquet made of white peonies, cornflowers and tanacetum also has an unusual detail - it is surrounded by architectural blueberry sprigs, peeled of leaves.
A strict jury consisting of Alexandra Evseeva - teacher of the course "European floristry", Semyonova Zhanna - teacher of the course "Creative floristry", Blokhina Tatiana - teacher of the course "Ikebana", Podyablonskaya Lidia - director of the training center "Floreal", made many comments to the participants of the competition. Basically, they concerned the lack of clarity of the composition, the excessive abundance of details, poor life support of colors and other shortcomings of technical performance. The winner did not escape them either, however, the jury assessed her work as a worthy debut, because Irina had just graduated from the courses. Undoubtedly, the participants of the competition, as well as the audience, received another lesson in floristic skills and a lot of fun.
In conclusion, let us recall the statement of the French writer Jean Cocteau: “In Paris, everyone wants to be actors. The fate of the viewer does not suit anyone."
