As part of the international celebration of the 50th anniversary of the chrysanthemum, the Flower Bureau of Holland held a master class in Moscow by the world famous florist Alexander Bermyakov and summed up the results of the radio marathon "Chasing the Golden Flower".

This year, the Dutch celebrate the half-century anniversary of one of the world's most popular flowers - chrysanthemum. In fact, the history of this flower began much earlier. So, its name has Greek roots, and he himself is traditionally revered in Japan as a symbol of the sun. But it was 50 years ago that Dutch breeders managed to give the famous flower a rebirth. They bred a large number of new species and turned this humble flower into an amazing phenomenon of the floristic world. This is how the modern look of the chrysanthemum appeared. In Holland they believe that a bunch of chrysanthemums is the best way to fill your life with bright colors and tell your loved one about your feelings.
In honor of this significant event, the Dutch Flower Bureau held a social event with the participation of Russian show business stars and representatives of the flower industry. The honorable guests of the evening were the finalists of the radio marathon dedicated to the chrysanthemum, which was held in September on Mayak radio.
A colorful event took place on October 6 at the Polly Garden restaurant, which for one evening turned into a real garden of blooming chrysanthemums. During the event, viewers saw an exciting flower show from one of the most famous Russian florists, a member of the floristic dynasty, Alexander Bermyakov. Alexander demonstrated to the guests his skills and all the variety of facets and incarnations of chrysanthemum, and also showed the basic techniques of drawing up harmonious flower arrangements.
During the event, the final stage of the "Chasing the Golden Flower" competition was also held. The finalists of the radio marathon in front of the audience gathered small flower arrangements of chrysanthemums under the direction of Alexander Bermyakov. The winner, determined during the voting of the guests, became the owner of the prize from the “golden flower” - a pair of golden rings decorated with live chrysanthemums. One for yourself, and the second for a loved one, as a reminder that flowers are the most romantic way to talk about your feelings without words.

That evening in honor of the hero of the occasion - the beautiful hero of the day - chrysanthemum, many warm words were said. Here are just a few quotes.
Representative of the Dutch Flower Bureau Brigitte Hagen: “The incredible variety of shapes and colors allows us to create compositions and bouquets of amazing beauty from chrysanthemums, which Alexander Bermyakov demonstrated to us today. Of more than 400 types of chrysanthemums, you can always choose the ones that suit you and will become a worthy decoration for any event."
The famous Russian florist Alexander Bermyakov: “For a florist, each flower is unique and inimitable, each has its own character and aura. I have always had a special attitude towards chrysanthemums - this is an incredibly cheerful and warm flower, an ideal gift for a loved one."
Denis Semin, winner of the “Chasing the Golden Flower” contest: “Chrysanthemums are very beautiful flowers. Creating the first composition in my life today, I thought about my wife. I wanted to do what I would not be ashamed to give her. I was inspired by the beauty of my wife and chrysanthemums. And my love for her helped to create a composition that everyone liked."
Actress Svetlana Permyakova: “I really love flowers. But I prefer chrysanthemums to all others. Beautiful flowers, bright, incredible, they also stand in a vase for a very long time, which means they delight me for many days in a row. I tell all my friends to give me chrysanthemums for any holiday."
